Betty & Vi’s Cocktail Bar & Lounge is named in honor of two remarkable women—Betty and Viola—great-grandmothers known not for nightlife, but for something even more powerful: bringing people together.
Betty was bold, unfiltered, and told it like it was. Viola, known as “Vi,” was gentle, warm, and soft-spoken. Though different in personality, they shared the same foundation—love, support, and a home where everyone was welcome.
Their gatherings weren’t about who you were or where you came from. If you walked through the door, you were family.
Betty & Vi’s carries that spirit into a modern space—where strong personalities, soft moments, and genuine connections all belong. A place where community is built, not just served.
Labor of Love
Perry Davis – Founder, Betty & Vi’s Cocktail Bar & Lounge is no stranger to hard work. Raised by his two great-grandmothers, he was instilled early with values that still guide him today—most importantly, treating people with kindness and respect, regardless of how he is treated in return.
His love for food began in the kitchen as a child, surrounded by his great-grandmothers, both talented private chefs who catered to some of the most prominent families in Virginia. Watching their passion for cooking and hospitality laid the foundation for Perry’s lifelong dedication to creating memorable dining experiences.
Over the years, Perry has worked in countless restaurants and hospitality spaces, building both skill and reputation. He later became a business owner, operating his own restaurant in Winchester, Virginia, “Just Like Grandma’s,” for four successful years. The restaurant maintained a consistent 4-star rating throughout its operation and was featured in the book Homeplace by John Lingan, along with recognition from various food critics and blogs.
While working at Uncle Julio's, Perry discovered a new creative outlet—craft cocktails. What began as experimentation quickly became a passion, blending his culinary background with mixology to create unique, experience-driven drinks.
Today, Perry brings that same spirit of hospitality, creativity, and community to Betty & Vi’s Cocktail Bar & Lounge—a space inspired by family, built for connection, and rooted in the belief that everyone who walks through the door should feel like they belong.
And while the focus is now behind the bar, Perry hasn’t hung up his apron completely—there are plans ahead to expand into a full-service restaurant, bringing his journey full circle.
